    Places to stay in Hanoi

Finding lodging in Hanoi is relatively easy, especially if you are looking in the city center. You'll find all kinds of hostels and hotels in Hanoi, with something for any budget. The old neighborhood is a good place to look if you're trying to find cheap Hanoi accommodations. The rooms are not fancy, but they are clean, and basics like Wi-Fi and TV are usually offered to travelers.

The best Hanoi hotels are are perhaps located near Hoan Kiem, which is close to numerous monuments and a great choice for a romantic getaway. But if you're trying to decide where to stay in Hanoi, you won't have to look further than the city center. Just take a look at minube's Hanoi hotel deals, and you'll see that prices here are generally low, even in the heart of the city. Hotels in Hanoi are usually such a good deal that it's cheaper to stay in them than in a hostel.

As a rule, even the cheapest places to stay in Hanoi offer friendly service. They are characterized by clean rooms and include the typical amenities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, and towels. You may not find the same luxuries in your Hanoi lodging that you would in a European destination, but you're sure to save money and have a good holiday!

    sofitel legend metropole hanoi hotel

    Hanoi
We were touring Asia on our honeymoon and this hotel was the first place we stayed. It's just wonderful. It's beautiful, has great location, a wonderful decor, is spacious and beautiful. The only downside was that the food wasn't for our taste. But still, it's worth going and returning!

    sheraton hanoi hotel

    Hanoi
While in Hanoi, we stayed at this hotel. The hotel is located on a lake, and is only 10 minutes from the city center, and half an hour from the airport. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated, in addition to good service with attention to detail (in-room newspaper, fruit, tea and coffee, bathrobe, etc.). Since it was the celebration of Tet (New Year), the lobby, restaurant, bar and other public areas of the hotel were decorated with the typical party decorations. In the restaurant, there is a nightly buffet that offers exquisite cuisine, with lots of seafood and a large selection of both Western and Vietnamese food. However, the best of all was definitely the big glass window from which you could enjoy the beautiful views of the city.

Almudena sums it up very well! If I had to point out a downside, it'd be that the wifi didn´t reach the room and there were many mosquitos from the lake. Still totally recommendable. The buffet was a luxury! The service excellent. Also you can change money at reception with good conditions!

a-z queen salute café travel. hotel
    Hotels in
    Hanoi
A coffee and an unpretentious restaurant located in the historic center of Hanoi. It offers a great price for tours to Halong Bay and elsewhere. They also sell bus passes to travel from Hanoi to Saigon in various journeys with flexible days. It has a cyber cafe and the bedroom accommodation is very cheap. For the most demanding they have a 2 star hotel with double rooms for about 25 €.

    sunshine 2 hotel
    Hotels in
    Hanoi
The Sunshine Hotels are a chain of hotels in Hanoi, I think there are three, but I'm not sure about that. In an attack of originality the hotels are called Sunshine, Sunshine 2, and Sunshine 3. In this case I'll be talking about Sunshine 2. Located in central Hanoi and at about the price of 15 USD (yum). The rooms had no extra amenities: there was a bed, coffee, a bathroom and of course, air conditioning. To connect to the Internet, you can do it from the front or from the hotel cafe (which also has an entrance from the street). Is the typical hotel to go backpacking through a country that can be quite economical if you you plan well.

    asia queen hotel
    Hotels in
    Hanoi
This small hotel has the advantage of being in the heart of the Old Quarter but in a very quiet alley. The Queen Hotel So Hotel has enormous double rooms with air conditioning and hot water, with a starting price of 15 USD, you can get down to 12 USD in low season. They provide a basic breakfast of fried eggs + juice + toast. It has 3 PC's with free internet access and free WiFi coverage to rooms on the first floor. In Reception there is good tourist information about Hanoi and elsewhere in Vietnam. The Asia Queen Hotel closes at night, like almost all hotels in Hanoi and Vietnam in general, but just ring the bell to get somebody to let you in. We stayed at another hotel in Hanoi called Hoan Kiem Lake Hotel. I do not recommend sleeping in this hotel as we had a rather unpleasant experience with the staff there. Note: Prices are for May 2009

    thai son 2 hotel
    Hotels in
    Hanoi
When I was in Hanoi I stayed at this hotel and through the website Agoda, I got a standard room for $19. It is more expensive than a hostel, but its has a slightly higher quality. Since I spent several nights out touring Halong and Sapa, I had to stay in two different rooms which were more or less the same. It was clean and simple, and despite not having a window, the bed was really great. There was air conditioning and it included breakfast, the best part of the hotel. It is buffet style and serves ready-to-order dishes like eggs and pho. One of the drawbacks is that the cheaper rooms do not have elevator access. And though there was WiFi in the rooms , it was very unreliable. They offer airport pickup service, for a fee. All in all, it is n acceptable mid-priced hotel.

    metropole hotel

    Hanoi
The Metropole is a beautiful French colonial style hotel situated in the center of Hanoi, and is beside Hoan Kiem Lake, in the bustle of the city. It has been in operation since 1901, and was the first Sofitel Legend in the world. It has 364 rooms and suites, 3 restaurants (French cuisine at Le Beaulieu, Vietnamese specialties at Spices Garden, and Italian cuisine at Angelina) , meeting rooms, a pool, a gym and a sauna.

may de ville old quarter hotel
    Hotels in
    Hanoi
This hotel is conveniently located for walking to all the Old Quarter of Hanoi. It is walking distance from Hoan Kiem Lake and just outside the door you are greeted with all the chaos and noise of Hanoi. The rooms are quite nice, fairly contemporary décor and a spa tub. It has wifi area and we even had a computer with free internet in the room itself. The staff and service are good. You can even leave the suitcase at reception during the days you're going to make trips to other areas like Sapa or Halong and take only the essentials so you do not have to carry everything. The only downside, which is quite important - when we were having breakfast one of my traveling companions saw a rat crawl under the tables. Given that it is a country where they eat them ... it perhaps escaped from the kitchen!. A great little hotel(apart from the rat)

halong bay - jasmine cruises hotel

    Hanoi
You can visit Vietnam without going to Halong Bay, one of the most spectacular places I've been to. Legend has it that the bay was created when a dragon fell into the sea, after falling it wagged his tail and it hit the ground. The most common is to go from Hanoi and spend a a couple nights at one of the many boats. After much research I chose this company and I'm sure it's the best. All the boats are beautiful, with lovely and spacious cabins. There are massages, and at night they have a BBQ on deck that is included in the price. The boat makes many stops to swim and explore caves.

    rising dragon villa hotel

    Hanoi
Situated in Hanoi's Old Quarter near Hoan Kiem Lake. On the outside it does not look great, but the rooms are nice, clean, comfortable, with Wifi and TV, the only downside are the windows and space, are a bit small and in our case at least the window was facing the hallway. The hotel offers tours and the services are great, they help you with anything you want and even let you use a room to shower in case you arrive very early from the airport or some guided tour you took. The breakfast is alright, and you have the option of tea or coffee, in the rooms as well.

Celia Hotel Hanoi is located in the old town. A 3* hotel, five minutes walk from Hoan Kiam and 45 minutes from the Noi Bai Airport. It offers free wifi, a service you'll usually find in most Vietnamese hotels, restaurants, and airports. The rooms area comfortable and functional. The restaurant is located in the basement, and breakfast is served buffet-style. The staff are very friendly, and you can change currency at reception. There's an ATM outside, and a small bar.

There are some apartments in Hanoi where ambassadors and other important people usually stay. These apartments are usually quite spacious, with plenty of amenities. The service is also very good. The majority of the staff speak English, and there are large playgrounds, mini golf, gym, and swimming pool, with water about 27 or 28 degrees.

The accommodation here is in a local family home. We were greeted in a friendly manner, and slept on the floor under a mosquito net. We had a rudimentary shower at our disposal, which was very useful. The temperature in the north at this time of year is about 13 to 15, and we had rain. The food was prepared by the whole family. We ate salads with delicious vegetables, and lovely fruits accompanied by the inevitable green tea or the delicious local beer. Breakfast consisted of coffee and pancakes.

With a great location just outside the economic and touristy part of the city centre, the Hilton is a few metres from Sword Lake, in a pretty square that also houses the city opera house. The building is impressive and majestic. We didn't stay here, as we prefer the cheaper guesthouses, but we ate here on Christmas Eve. The hotel is decorated with 1,000 lights for the season and offers a delicious buffet with oysters, foie gras, a huge selection of meats, fish, shellfish, vegetables, and breads and cheeses for just $ 40 - very popular with expats. A good way to celebrate Christmas if you're feeling nostalgic for Europe.

We were recommended to stay in Hanoi Imperial Hotel by a friend and definitely enjoyed our stay. The hotel is right in the center of Hanoi's old quarter, just a few steps from Hoan Kiem Lake, the Thang Long water puppet theater, shopping centers...extremely convenient for exploring the city. The hotel room is large with a king size bed and modern facilities. We were upgraded for free to a Deluxe double room with open air window, that was great. The hotel staff is young, friendly and so helpful, they helped us arrange the trip to Sapa at a very reasonable price and the trip was wonderful. By the way, the breakfast cannot be better as it's always fully set up with a variety of food, good "Pho" and there's an egg stall that is always available... We will come back Hanoi and stay in the Imperial Hotel for sure.

A great location, taking into account the constant noise (especially at night) that you'll find in the streets of Hanoi. It's in a touristy area, and is a good place to go, especially if you've just arrived in Vietnam. You can book in advance. The rooms are clean and airy, and the staff are welcoming. It has air conditioning, and the better rooms have TV. However, the doubles cost about $15 a night, which is affordable, but on the high side in this area.
