    Hotel Puerta América
Not only for what all other travelers already commented: the impressive decoration, each of the floors is different, the cocktails in the bar, the menu in the restaurant, the splendid terrace... The atmosphere is simply great. You feel as if you were in a world where all fantasy is possible, where the customer is the most important. I went there only one night, but thanks to a special offer on their website, which I recommend checking out. The price included two cocktails at the bar and two other ones on the terrace. Parking was also included, which was supposedly free of charge but we had to pay half of it (check it before going). Our room was on the sixth floor, very futurist but sensual at the same time. The bed was very large, covered with black leather. The bathroom was made entirely of white marble, with a bath and a shower. It was connected to the room thanks to a screen you could knock down if you wanted to. We had booked another one but it was not available (you choose the room at the reception in the end) and to be honest we liked this one better than the one we had chosen first. The cocktails at Marmo Bar are impressive and original, no mojito or anything cliché. The terrace is good and the cocktails are more commonplace but very good. It is a must see. A place to go back to for a special occasion.

    Eurostars Madrid Tower hotel
Stunning new hotel located in the north of Madrid in the Cuatro Torres Business Area. The location isn't ideal for tourists looking to stay in the center of the city and have everything close by, but it is perfect for businsessmen looking for a quiet place to stay.

    Petit Palace Posada del Peine
The Posada del Peine is a lovely botique hotel, with an unbeatable location in the capital: a few meters away from Plaza Mayor in Madrid. It is of the Petit Palace chain and has four stars. It is supposed to be the oldest hotel in Spain, since the building was an old inn in the year 1610, renovated in 2005 to house the current 71 rooms hotel. I definitely liked it and and I thought it was tastefully decorated. The house preserves the original structure and in the decoration they combined country elements like brick walls, wooden beams and forged handrails, with contemporary elements (crystal, design and white leather armchairs, modern lamps, light and straight lines in the furniture, etc.). They have also put all kinds of technology. In the room we had a flatscreen TV, a laptop with wireless internet and hydromassage in the shower. Of course we had air conditioning and heating, minibar and safe. The room was large and with modern furniture: a leather and wood headboard, with the night tables and two halogen headlights. We also had a desk (where the laptop was) and the TV above it on the wall. The bathroom was amazing, all white to give the impression of being cleaner if it is even possible, with the shower, the squared marble sink on a wooden worktable, magnifying mirror and hairdryer. However, I found a small drawback: the shower curtain! I think a glass screen would be much better. I guess our room was prepared for handicapped people since there were numerous handles and the shower was at the same level as the floor (I don't know about the other rooms). It is not a cheap hotel (starting at 100€ for the night), but it is definitely worth a whim because it is right in the center, lovely and you have many services you do not usually find in other accommodations.

Hotel Abalú Boutique & Design Hotel
1.20 am, we are walking in Pez street in Madrid. Maravillas, Universidad or Malasaña neighborhood, whatever you prefer to call it. The first one is the old name, the second the official one, the third is the one of the first local movement and of course, the one of the 80's "movida madrileña". The flavor of the neighborhood radiates something very "Madrid" like, where the most modern is mixed with the oldest, the dusty with the sophisticated in a small area. There are few neighborhoods enjoying this status of being pure Madrid, where everyone is accepted without discrimination, without ghettos and without elite. The area with small places is without a doubt known for the alternative atmosphere and the nightlife. In 1919, a small design boutique hotel, the Abalú, with 15 rooms spread on two floors and each one decorated in a unique and personal way. A relaxing and quiet atmosphere to enjoy the decoration of the space, inspired in the fifties, retro and cosmopolitan. The location is unbeatable, as much for nightlife fans as for those who want to visit monuments, museums and cultural centers the capital city of Spain offers. We spent the night in a very comfortable business junior suite and we had breakfast in the funny Beauty Bar, then leaving the place to go and discover this traditional and original neighborhood.

    Dormirdcine hotel
It is another concept of a hotel, different to what we are used to. It is characterized by the careful decoration and successful atmosphere. Everything revolves around cinema. Every room is decorated in a different way, settled in one particular movie, about a particular actress or actor or director. From those dedicated to Amélie, The Pink Panther, Moulin Rouge, Mary Poppins... To those dedicated to Penélope Cruz or Audrey Hepburn, or those dedicated to directors like Almodóvar or Buñuel. I have to admit that when they gave us the room keys we were all excited to know which one we got and to take pictures inside. The lobby and cafeteria have a special atmosphere. I recommend staying at this hotel.

Holiday Inn Madrid - Calle Alcala
I was staying in Madrid for three months, and my parents came to visit me for a weekend. They stayed at Hotel Velada, near the end of the Calle Alcala, and we were surprised by the quality of the hotel in terms of value - comparing what they paid and the actual price of the rooms, we were blown away. The price of the double room are 310 without breakfast, because my parents paid 82 euros, and with breakfast and parking! Incredible. You can see it in the pictures. My mother loved that all the bathroom products came in a box, and she could take everything. And breakfast left them satisfied in both terms of quality and quantity.

    Tryp Madrid Gran Vía hotel
I spent a fantastic week at this hotel: the friendly service, quality, and its great location in the heart of Madrid made my stay an absolute blast. You have everything you could possibly want at your fingertips. Okay, the neigbourhood can seem a little old-fashioned and maybe even a little rough, but for anyone like me, who comes from another part of Spain, it's a great place to spend a few days. Bars, shops, cafes, restaurants ... everything is nearby. A great time!

    Regente Hotel
The Regent Hotel Madrid is in Gran Via, on the corner of Calle de la Montera. It is located in a prime location in the commercial heart of the city, a short walk from the Puerta del Sol and Chueca, with dozens of restaurants and bars nearby. For lovers of film and theatre, there's plenty to do in Gran Via, and if that's not enough for you, the hotel is right next to a metro station. This recently-renovated three star hotel has a total of 153 rooms, that are fairly well insulated from the noise of the city. The decor is more modern than the other big hotels on Gran Via. The rooms are connected to the internet, and have a telephone, air conditioning, and bathroom. The reception hall can host 60 people ... you can order catering for coffees and cocktails served in the lounge. It's cheap: a double room costs 50 euros. Prices do not include breakfast.

    Only You Hotel & Lounge
Beautiful people, in every way. What I liked most during my brief stay at the hotel was the wonderful treatment from the team there, especially the remarkable attention of Dan and Hector the concierge and bellman who were warm and welcoming. We were having dinner in the map restaurant. First I ordered a salad and it was lovely, second taco beef, I think was its name, meat that melts in your mouth. The desserts are very tasty too, although I did not have time to take pictures. The bed was so comfortable, I slept soundly all night between the pillows and warm comforter. We headed out, but beforehand, at reception we got a very cool little map of a route of about 6 km and when we got back the concierge was waiting with a towel and a water bottle. Then we had a little shower with rain shower head in the bathroom, which was very large and also a point in its favor, there is a hairdryer and even a hair straightener :) This hotel takes care of the small details almost obsessively. Breakfast is a la carte, yeah yeah, to the letter! We asked for a little of everything; cut Iberian ham, scrambled eggs, assorted breads, assorted sweets, orange juice and melon, coffee, chocolate, churros ... Etc, etc, etc! Anyway, I've had a great time, and I loved the experience!

    Hotel Santo Domingo
Situated in a privileged location, Plaza Santo Domingo in Madrid, just in between Gran Vía and Callao, this renovated hotel is a great option to stay in the center of the city or to celebrate a wedding in an urban setting. The special attention to detail, the terrace with a swimming pool on the roof, or the beautiful vertical garden in the splendid lobby make it even better and it is clear that this hotel is an ideal place to stay if you visit Madrid.

    Hotel Ritz Madrid
The Ritz hotel is the most beautiful in the city for me but at Christmas ... It's gorgeous. This year they celebrated the centenary of the hotel and it was especially nice. The decor is understated, all the bulbs the same colour.

    Ayre Gran Hotel Colón
Even though it seems obvious, it really isn´t. Every time I have arrived at this hotel (and I have never slept here) they have greeted me with a great big smile and this is very welcome. This is a very large hotel next to the centre of Madrid and at the same time 2 min. away from the M30 motorway with very good location both for tourism in Madrid and business trips. It has a terrace at the top where on days of good weather little parties are organized with DJ Fernan Disco which are very lively and fun.

    Apartosuites Jardines de Sabatini
Not just a place that make you feel comfortable - this hotel really goes above and beyond what you'd expect, and it's the little details that really make it special. You don't have to worry about anything: whether you're on business or on holiday, it's the perfect place to stay. It's an arty hotel, with really unparalleled views overlooking the Royal Palace and the Sabatini Gardens. Cosmopolitan, small and practical, with lots of history within the walls (including a museum of antique cars with the revolutionary Ford Model T, and iconic photos of Madrid in the 30s and 50s), it has a wonderful location close to Gran Via, the Plaza España, and the Royal Palace. A must in Madrid.

    Tryp Madrid Cibeles Hotel
Cibeles Tryp Hotel is situated in Mesonero Romanos street, number 13, that is to say in Madrid's Gran Vía. It belongs to the Sol Meliá chain. This hotel has 132 rooms with private bathroom, telephone, minibar and wireless internet. They also offer a washing service. It is a very central location to enjoy the city, maybe a little noisy because Gran Vía is one of the busiest streets in Madrid. The rooms of this four stars hotel cost from 94€ a night and can be booked on their website, with the best price available on the internet. The rooms are large, with traditional decoration, slightly soulless but at least there is enough room. The building is the typical big, formal, stone building built in the past century on Gran Vía. You can walk everywhere from the hotel, to Puerta del Sol or the neighborhood of Chueca.

It has several original fixtures including the floors, windows and carpets manufactured by the Royal Tapestry factory. The imposing architecture and great service has made it one of the capital's landmark hotels. There's a great restaurant where you can enjoy innovative menus and beautiful views of Retiro Park. The Suite bar serves snacks throughout the day, and is the perfect place for an informal meeting. Each of the rooms at the Hotel AC Palacio del Retiro is different, maintaining the spirit of the old building but with modern luxuries down to the last detail.

    NH Madrid Nacional hotel
The NH Madrid Nacional is a 4-star hotel ideally located near the Prado and the Reina Sofia art museums, opposite the Botanical Gardens and Atocha Station. It is very cozy despite not being the newest hotel around, and to be honest, the quality is not what you would expect from a hotel chain as well known as NH.

    Westin Palace Hotel
This hotel, in La Carrera de San Jeronimo, is a part of history. When it opened its doors in 1912, it made history as the largest hotel in Europe, with 400 rooms ... few hotels in the world can boast of having had guests like Salvaor Dali, Federico Garica Lorca, and Luis Buñuel ... and all three at the same time! It's a great place to go and have a drink at the bar, eat in the winter garden or just admire its history. The atmosphere will transport you back in time ...
