Rome has two Sheraton hotels, but we stayed at the Sheraton Roma Hotel in the Eur district in the south of the city. The decor of the rooms was not very modern...nothing was lacking, but it seemed like my grandparents' home. The beds are very good though. The hotel food is good and they give you plenty of options at breakfast, but the bar is a little seedy and there's an old singer with a piano. To visit Rome, the subway is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and there are a few buses nearby as well. Another negative point is that they charge 12 euros per day for internet! Keeping in mind that the rooms costs more than 150 euros per night, they should include internet. The hotel has 640 rooms and downstairs there is a small gallery with shops which, while convenient, are rather expensive. Oh, and it has a pool!
This hotel is on one of the streets behind the [poi=74442]Piazza di Spagna[/poi]. If you like to shop, this is the ideal hotel: all the main shopping streets and brand-name stores are nearby. The only fault I can find with this hotel is that there is a bit of noise from the street.
The hotel is wonderfully luxurious and the rooms are the kind that you don't easily forget. I remember coming back from a day exploring Rome, opening up the door to my room and thinking "now THIS is the life!" The service, as you can imagine, is outstanding and what you'd expect from a hotel of this category (and price). It's not ideal for every kind of vacation, but if you have the money and it's a special occasion (I'm thinking honeymoon), then it's the best place in Rome.
Trivia 1: the palace across the street belongs to the Lequio family.
Triva 2 (much more interesting): there is a plaque at the hotel entrance in honor of the Polish Nobel laureate who lived in the hotel. Sienkiewicz, if I remember correctly.
I have very good memories of this hotel. I visited years ago and the room and service were both marvelous. It’s practically on top of the [poi=240]Trevi Fountain[/poi] and the Barberini metro station. There are lots of bars, restaurants, and pizza to-go places in the neighborhood. The building is old but renovated and elegant, with high ceilings and luxurious common areas. We got assigned an enormous triple room with basic furniture, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is what really stood out: two sinks, sterling marble, and a large shower. Despite being close to Trevi Fountain, we didn't notice any outside noise. Not all the rooms are as nice nor have the same level of refinement as ours, so I guess we got lucky. The breakfast buffet is standard for a European 3-star hotel.
The Hotel Il Borgo is surrounded by a lovely park which makes it perfect for a peaceful family holiday. Among the hotel amenities there is: a restaurant that offers romantic dinners or banquets and a hallway. Also in the park we see a chapel which is ideal for weddings.
BEST WESTERN HOTEL UNIVERSE right in The city of Rome is a Four Star hotel, splendidly located so you can walk along the historic center of Rome, which is a very happening place. It is only 2 blocks from the Opera of Rome and close to Villa Borghese, the Stazini Termini (train station), the Roman Forum, etc.. It has 199 rooms. It is a nineteenth century historic building, and feels like a 4-star hotel in terms of the comforts it features. Book through Minube and you will surely get the best rate.
I had wanted a hotel near the [poi=5395]Termini Railway Station [/poi](Rome’s main transportation hub) and I found this small (it only has one floor) but very recommendable hotel. It’s completely renovated, modern, young, and friendly. The reception has tea and cookies and the like. They gave us some helpful information about the city like metro and bus lines. The price was great.
Practical hotel located just 150 meters from Manzoni Metro Station and near bus stops going towards various tourist attractions in the city. Spacious rooms, no frills but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast included in the price and it was not much, but had a bit of everything. The staff was very friendly and smooth, and the place has a roof terrace from which you can see the roofs and statues of the apostles [poi = 516971] San Giovanni in Laterano [/ poi]. Definitely recommended.
BEST WESTERN Hotel Canada, Rome is a three star hotel, very well located in the historical center of the city, near the metro station Castro Pretorio, and about 500 meters from Stazione Termini (Rome Rail Terminal) in a seventeenth century building that has been recently renovated. There are 70 rooms and, like all hotels belonging to this chain, the service is great. It cost 151 euros for a room with twin beds.
The experience was great! It was Christmas and decor plus a choir (like in the movies) singing carols once you enter leaves you amazed. Great breakfasts, great facilities...I still remember the divine panettone. In short, you should go.
This elegant B&B is located in central Rome near the [poi=74442]Piazza di Spagna[/poi] and has one simple mission: to make you feel at home. Well, they certainly do a great job of it, especially thanks to the owner Marco and the lovely details of the interior. There are two double rooms and one single room, each with its own decoration and soul. You can have breakfast on the roof with amazing views of Rome, Monti Trinitadei, and the Academy of France. Or, head up at night and enjoy an evening under the stars. Very recommended!
This is a 4-star hotel located on a street near the [poi=2549]Colosseum[/poi]; the Coliseo metro stop is only 300 meters from the hotel. The rooms are functional and have everything you need; the bathroom is a bit small, especially the shower, but the location makes up for it. The hotel has a terrace on the 8th floor with a pool and absolutely wonderful views. If you visit Rome in the summertime, you’ll be thankful.
Russie Hotel is one of the most exclusive in the city of Rome, with an excellent location between the famous Plaza de Spain and Piazza del Popolo. The hotel has 33 suites that offer services like complimentary packing and unpacking of luggage, complimentary trouser press, breakfast buffet, and free wifi. The price per night is around 2500 €. A cheaper option to enjoy the Hotel Russie is coming for brunch at the restaurant "Le Jardin de Russie". The brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays, and costs 48 € per person (drinks not included).
In the heart of Rome, Hotel Madrid is within walking distance of the main tourist attractions and has easy access to the subway and the most exclusive shopping areas. It's in a charming seventeenth century building and provides modern/professional services in a prime city location.
For our trip to Rome we found this hotel, it seemed perfect for what we wanted; a cheap hotel near the Termini station, with breakfast included and an en-suite. Arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a nice guy who showed us to the room, where we left our belongings and went to eat. The next morning we wanted to leave early and at 07:30 we tried to make ourselves coffee from the machine they have in the hallway (Nespresso type), but the guy who was there that morning got annoyed and said they served from 08:00 h.
We agreed to wait a while, but I had never tasted such a bad latte in my life, even from the University coffee machine. On the second day they wanted to charge us in cash a 10 € fee for the council (I'm still waiting for the receipt). Over the following days, adding to the problems they brought us breakfast between 08:30 and 08:45am, but we didn´t want to waste time sipping a crappy latte and eating a croissant warmed in the microwave. This is what happened in a so-called hotel and we have stayed in some hell holes, but we have never been treated so poorly.
This is the only hotel overlooking the stunning Fontana di Trevi. Obviously, I can only recommend the rooms that overlook the fountain; the others don't have the same quality : price ratio. It's awesome to look out of your window and see the fountain, but other than that, the hotel is ideally located for visiting all the historic hot spots in Rome. Nothing is more than a few minutes' walk away. I came here to celebrate my 11th wedding anniversary, looking for something special for a romantic weekend with my wife, and I assure you it was a success. We'll be back when we have another chance to get away, but only if we can be sure we'll get room 105 again! Here's a photo taken from the room.
When in Rome, it doesn't matter if you're a bit short on cash and you're staying in a Bed and Breakfast or in a hostel...... It's always good and rewarding walk around the "expensive places" that you may never go to stay, but just going for a walk around their lobby or perhaps, as I did, a little sit in a chair to rest my feet ..... See how you feel in those places. So when you walk down Via Veneto, which incidentally, is a very short walk, only two or three blocks, the feeling you get when you enter the Hotel Excelsior, even for a little while is unforgettable.
Central, cute, and welcoming
I’d recommend this 4-star hotel both for its location right on Rome’s Via Nazionale and its price. We paid around 100€ the night during the low season; if you’re visiting in summer or during the holidays then the price would logically be a bit higher. Breakfast was included and it was an ample and tasty spread of fruit, pastries, and juice. As far as the rooms go, they’re warm and clean and we had no problems. There is a friendly 24-hour reception that has free wi-fi around the clock. I was very content with the hotel and I’d recommend it to anyone. As I mentioned, it’s very central and only about a 10 minutes’ walk from the [poi=240]Trevi Fountain[/poi] and the main sights in Rome
The Atlante Star Hotel is a 4 star hotel in the heart of Rome. 3 minutes from the Vatican and Castel San Angel. 10 minutes from the Piazza Navona and only 15 minutes from the Spanish Steps. A great option for travelers, close to all the major landmarks of the city.
We spent a pretty good weekend at this 4-star hotel last June. The location is great and the staff is very polite. The hotel is relatively new (opened in 2009) and the rooms aren’t enormous or anything, but they are clean, nice, and comfortable (air conditioning, heat, mini-bar, flat-screen, etc.). The best part was the breakfast in the hotel courtyard, without a doubt.
This hotel, dating back to 1873, has a great location within the Fort St Angelo, in a lovely quiet little street. The historic building means that there's no lift, but the dedication of the staff, the detail, and the amazing breakfast give this simple 3-star hotel a definite charm.
From the airport of Rome you have to take the train to Termini central station. Once there you'll notice that you buy the train tickets at a kiosk (the same that sells newspapers and trinkets). From Termini, you have to go to Casino and if you do not know anyone in Casino, you must wait for the bus service that only happens twice a day, but once you get to San Biagio the entire journey disappears, giving way to nature, relaxation, and good food. There arefFew things to do in San Biagio, except walk, let yourself be rocked by the wind, eat healthy food and have time for yourself without having to worry about the time.
This is a good hotel in Rome with a great location and a friendly staff. It’s like being at home and you can come and go as you like. There is a metro stop right at the front door and supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and gelaterias in the area. At the end of the street is one of my favorite places in all of Rome: the [poi=57742]Church of Santa Maria Maggiore[/poi].
This is my favorite hotel in Rome and it’s located in downtown next to the [poi=1493]Piazza de Popolo[/poi] and the [poi=409171]Spanish Steps[/poi]. The hotel is relatively small and has somewhat old-fashioned decoration, but it’s very welcoming and the bar area is a popular meeting place that always has a lively atmosphere full of Rome’s beautiful people.
We decided to stay in this hotel during our five-day trip to Rome, and it was a great idea. The NH Vittorio Veneto is located in a good area, at the end of the famous Via Veneto (famous for its shops and cafes), immersed in the quiet atmosphere of the gardens of Villa Borghese in the heart of Rome. This splendid hotel boasts an edgy exterior architecture and an absolutely refined and attractive interior, where we spend a unique and unforgettable time. We like to leave the hotel early in the morning and come back late, having spent the whole day exploring the city; therefore, we need good breakfast and a comfortable room, and we found both here. We'll definitely come back..
Staying only a few steps from the Via dei Condotti and the [poi=74442]Piazza di Spagna[/poi] is priceless, especially when the owners of the hotel are dedicated to pleasing their guests. The reception area is around the corner in the Hotel Condotti and that’s where you have to check-in and get the room keys.
The Condotti Palace is a renovated building with ample, well-decorated rooms and a salon area on the upper floor. The views of the busy oh-so-typically-Roman streets are wonderful and you have everything to make your own breakfast in the room if you’re travelling on a budget.
Situated in the rolling hills of Maremma, between the lakes of Bracciano and Martignano, near the picturesque town of Anguillara, the I Due Laghi Hotel is a pure oasis of calm, surrounded by nature. The pool is set in a relaxing garden, where you can enjoy spectacular views. The hotel has a restaurant where the chef serves daily local delicacies so that you can sample everything that this region of Italy has to offer. It is only 40 minutes away from Rome by car or train.
Tarconte Hotel is in Peschiera Borromeo in Lombardy in Italy. It has about 5 rooms each decorated with the best furnishings, comfortable, and fully equipped to offer guests the best of comfort. There is also a Reading Room, Tea Room, Car Park, terrace and balconies with incredible views.
It can be found in the center of the city of Viterbo, in the province of Lazio. It is only a few minutes from the medieval center of an outstanding beauty. The property has over 90 rooms and suites with modern facilities that will be more comfortable to stay in. The restaurant "Le Grenier Restaurant " perfectly combines authentic and delicious cuisine for the guests.
