The common parts of the hotel are modern and well decorated, and the hotel itself is more than comfortable. The rooms offer an assortment of teas and delicious Italian chocolate. There's a small TV in the bathroom, and the bed is large and comfortable. It's completely soundproof, which is useful as the station is opposite. In short, perfect for relaxing after a day of walking around the city. As I said, it's opposite the train station, so it is perfect for trips to Ravenna, Modena, or Ferrara. The main square is about 15-25 minutes walk away, through arcades full of shops. If you're travelling from the airport, the bus stops right at the door, the trip takes 30 minutes and it costs 10 euros per person. Breakfast is not very varied, but tasty, and provides more than enough energy for the day ahead. It belongs to the Starhotels chain.
The Art Hotel Novecento (Bologna) was opened in 2003 and is a Viennese Secession style hotel . It can be found located in the center of Bologna. In the hotel you can find free services like renting bikes, internet access that is unlimited for PCs, reservations of tourist services, opera tickets and guides for excursions.
Not far from the train station, and within walking distance (rather a long walk, it must be said) of the centre of Bologna. The good reviews on various websites encouraged me to book here, and it's really good, with plenty to recommend it other than its affordable price - there's great decor, and an excellent breakfast. The room is simple, but it has a fridge and kettle, plus a terrace. In a rather plain middle class neighbourhood, but nevertheless I'd say that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Recommended.
The price isn't the cheapest here, and the location across from the bus station and lack of soundproofing in the room means that I won't be staying here again. It's a shame that they haven't fixed the coffee or toast machines. I recommend the Excelsior or Il Guercino hotels near the station instead.
This newly renovated B&B is surrounded by nature, in the hills outside Bologna. From the garden and the terraces, you can enjoy beautiful views. The rooms are spacious, bright and well-kept, and the furniture is unique, with 60's and 70's designs. The breakfast is delicious - homemade cakes, jams, yogurt, fruit, cereal, and even savoury dishes. An excellent guesthouse at a very low price, with plenty of great restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
Casa Malvezzi is a beautiful building formed when several lots were merged in 1559 by the Malvezzi family. Their house is located in the center and was building was the property of the Malvezzis from 1600 to 1800 before passing to the Carrati family. Inside, you can see a beautiful living room with a wooden ceiling decorated with frescoes of mythological scenes by the artist Cesare Baglioni.
I could only stay one night in Bologna because it was a stopover on my way to another country. Since I was only staying 24 hours in town, I needed a central hotel so I could see everything in a short time. I also needed to be close to the train station where for the airport bus stops. This hotel is ideal because of its location and because it is close to the main street that leads to the Piazza Maggiore and the famous Neptune Fountain. It cost me €80 with breakfast, but I saw other nights as cheap as €50. The room was very large and the hotel has lots of charm! If I returned, I would probably stay there again.
It's true that it's too classic, that breakfast is improved and staff suffer from a certain coldness. But you have to admit its advantageous value - you can get a room with breakfast for a small price. The bed is very comfortable, there is no street noise but there are other rooms, so it's better to have no immediate neighbors. It's in a quiet street and you can stroll to Piazza Nettuno or any of the great local trattorias on vía Indipendenza.
This B&B is a country house that has been renovated, with a big garden. You're surrounded by greenery, and just 10 minutes by car from the city centre. The dogs, Gigi and Acla, are a great source of entertainment for families with kids.
The secret of this B&B is in the attention to detail, and in the decoration of the bedrooms, which catapults travelers back in time. They are spacious and well-equipped. The prices are good, and you can walk easily to Independence Street. Look for the two timbered buildings; you'll find the B&B upstairs, with an interior patio, closed by an enormous door. But don't worry, the owner will give you all the keys you need to be totally independent as you explore the city.
This is an ideal place for business travellers, like those who want to take a break from routine. This cozy hotel finds itself located in the history city center, very close to the train station and the freeway.
