    Places to stay in Edinburgh

Are you going to spend a few days in the Scottish capital and asking yourself where to stay in Edinburgh? Great! The city will captivate you with its charm and to make your trip perfect you just need to find the perfect lodging in Edinburgh.

The city is the second most visited in the UK after London, so the traveler has an extensive network of Edinburgh accommodations to choose from. There are hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses, and hostels ... a place for every type of traveler. It may be best to look for places to stay in Edinburgh in the city center. Old Town is full of hotels and lively backpacker hostels, which might be the best Edinburgh lodging option for the traveler on a strict budget.

If money's not an issue, there are lots of luxury hotels in Edinburgh, some of which are found in ancient buildings providing a full range of services from spas and swimming pools to fine Edinburgh hotel bistros. Lovers of tranquility and nature can stay in one of the small Edinburgh hotels on the outskirts of town. Run by Scots, good treatment and kindness are guaranteed. If you are visiting the city during one of its famous festivals, be sure to book early to guarantee somewhere to stay - and hopefully to take advantage of some Edinburgh hotel deals! At this time of year you might also find student accommodation rented out to travelers.

Don't hesitate and find your accommodation in Edinburgh through minube.

    caledonian backpackers hostel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
This is a backpackers hostel with a good atmosphere, and is situated in the center of Edinburgh Queensferry Street. It is open 24 hours a day so you will not have to worry if you leave and come back late. If you arrive to the city and what a provisional place to stay, as do many Erasmus students, the hostel offers a weekly rate of 55 pounds. Then prices vary according to how many people share the room with you, between 20 and 12 pounds per night. It is a five minute walk from the train station, and on a flat road, no hills to climb, which there are many of in the city. The price includes sheets and blankets, but they do not provide towels. Below are some common rooms with TV, a computer with internet, and a laundry service. It also has a bar open until quite late at night, but you can´t usually hear the noise from the rooms.

    castle rock hotel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
If you are looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh, then I recommend that you book Castle Rock. It's a Scottish backpackers hostel located just behind Edinburgh Castle and three minutes from the main street Lawnmarket, where there are plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants and where, along it, there are several monuments and sights. Castle Rock has a great atmosphere and a lot of young travelers stop by. The main room, the larger one, and the smaller ones are cheaper. This hotel has more than 14 to 16 beds for about 12 pounds per night (about 13 euros). The room is quite spacious, so you do not get the feeling of being crowded or cramped because people tend to respect the fact that they're sharing a room. The only drawback is that the bathrooms are mixed, and sometimes it's a little inconvenient to have to shave in front of strangers. The hostel also has a kitchen where you can prepare food you've brought from abroad, and breakfast is included in the price per night (although those traveling from hostel Solais know that they aren't very good, as they're only a cup of cocoa, coffee or tea). The best part of this hostel is that it has two rooms, a small one with a DJ station, and another huge one where guests (from all over the world) gather to play pool, different games, play the guitar, read, etc. The decor is another aspect of the hostel that draws a lot of attention because it seems like you're actually staying in a castle, because there is even a statue of a soldier there(at night it's a little scary). The staff is very kind, they're all young people from around the world: American, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, etc. If you love Edinburgh and if you want to stay there, it's possible you can survive here for the same price or better as anywhere else.

    the rutland hotel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
The Rutland Hotel is a hotel in the West End, a former Edinburgh slum that is currently becoming a fashionable area. Prices are high, about 200 pounds per night, but the rooms are incredible. There are only 12 rooms, all tastefully decorated and all different in their own way. The street outside is Princess Street, one of the liveliest in the city, with many shops and things to do, but once inside the hotel it is quiet. When you enter the room, you are welcomed with muffins and water bottles, more commonplace in the UK, a kettle and some tea bags or coffee. The rooms have been upgraded and now include a place to put your iPod and play your music. You are in a great location, whether it be for business or tourism, are a five minute walk from the castle and the historic UNESCO World Heritage site, and Princes is one of the streets where it is easiest to take a taxi.

    rocco forte balmoral hotel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
Rocco Forte Balmoral Hotel is a monumental and luxurious five star hotel that's hard not to notice when you're walking along Princes St. The building is right next to Waverley Station, which actually isn't a coincidence at all. It was once known as the Royal British Hotel and was actually built for the Railroad company. Also, for travelers arriving late to the train station...the big clock which shows the time is actually set two minutes fast!

    ardenlee guest house
    Hostels in
    Edinburgh
Super well located, just a few blocks from the old part of Edinburgh, it's a very quiet neighborhood. This guest house is highly recommended- 100/100. The little hotel, located in a typical multi-story house, looks like it's been renovated a little. Its rooms are spacious, the bathrooms, although small, have everything you could need. The heat works really well and you won't even feel the Edinburgh chill in December. If Ardenlee is full, its owners are the proprietors of another house right next door, which has also been converted into a guest house that's just as cozy as its neighbor. The guest house has a variety of cheap good restaurants a half a block away and Chinese delivery that's pretty good. The photos show the neighborhood.

    kew house and apartments
    Hostels in
    Edinburgh
Kew House And Apartments is a 5-star accommodation and is situated just meters from Murrayfield Stadium and just a short walk from the city center. It has 6 rooms that are kept with minimal detail: and there is reception with tea, coffee and homemade biscuits. They have private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and toiletries. They also have accommodation in an apartment adjacent that has a kitchen, bathroom, dining room on the ground floor and a double and single room on the top floor. It also has other services such as parking, continental breakfast and daily maid service. It is an ideal choice for a visit to Edinburgh or to explore Central Scotland.

smart city hostels by safestay, edinburgh
    Youth Hostels in
    Edinburgh
Smart City Hostel in Edinburgh is one of the best hostels I have ever visited. It has bedrooms, bathrooms and clean bedding. It´s a better idea to stay in one of the top floors, as the bottom floors are close to the street with noise coming from the Smartcity bar, especially during the summer festival in Edinburgh, where it seems like nobody sleeps. The breakfast buffet costs £ 5 but is of good quality, and the beds cost about 20 €, 25 €during the Summer Festival

    easyhotel edinburgh hotel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
Our trip to Great Britain was quite long and we had to make many stops. Therefore, choosing hotels was a headache. Finally, we committed to staying in two EasyHotels locations, one in London Victoria and in this one. Especially in this case, I think we chose correctly. It is located on Princes Street, one of the most important streets in Edinburgh and also where typical low cost shops can be found everywhere, all with wonderful views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Gardens. Following the EasyHotel philosophy, the rooms are minimal, with a bathroom similar to those they have on aircraft, tiny, just enough space to leave your bag. Do not expect frills (no lift), but everything is spotless and in a very cool location. You have the option of booking a room with or without a window (with a fee. I recommend to choose one with a window because the views are incredible.

    princes street east backpackers hostel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
This is one of those places that you just don't want to leave. The walls are covered in paintings by backpackers who have lived there over the years, a testament to the hostel's quirky, quasi-hippy atmosphere. It is not the cleanest place, especially compared to other modern hotels around, but it is a exactly what a good hostel should be. A small and self-sufficient backpacker hostel where you can meed people and have a good time.

    st christopher's inn
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
Conveniently located in the center of Edinburgh, just a few meters from the train station and a short distance from all the tourist attractions, St. Christopher's Inn is a hostel whose prices are unbeatable: cheapest dorm beds are only £6! But for £2 more you get smaller private beds, and it seems that most travelers choose not to spend this because you will be alone! This place is clean and safe, we were very satisfied with a bar / restaurant on the ground floor.

The most famous and luxurious hotel in Edinburgh. It's a beautiful building with its clock tower that serves as a reference in the city center on Princes Street, one of the main avenues with views of the gardens and the castle by day and its illuminations at night.

It is only 5 minutes from Waverly train station and 12 kilometers from the airport. The hotel has 99 rooms, including 6 ones equipped for the disabled and handicapped. budget backpackers hostel
    Youth Hostels in
    Edinburgh
Without reaching the hotel they helped me via email. And when we arrived (in the early morning) they let us in. It's a renovated hostel, very central, with a great atmosphere. It's great as far as price goes, with available kitchens to prepare your own food. Individual showers, no schedules. Different game rooms, etc. You'll want to come back!

    west end hotel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
The West End Hotel, while taking on the title of 'hotel', is a backpackers hostel in the making. It is not located in the city center but in the West End, a 10 minute walk from the quiet Royal Mile. It is ideal if you want quiet and a clean site that will not charge you a kidney. It has an outdoor terrace, ideal for breakfast and / or dinner. The dorms are very clean and quite bright. Some rooms have private bathrooms (one per room) including a toilet and shower (mine was spotless throughout my stay). In addition there is a kind of small safe with a lock, which is perfect things in overnight without worrying about theft. On the ground floor there is a common room with tables, books and computer repositories. It also has a kitchenette to prepare your food (though it is often not very clean, unfortunately). It seems like an ideal place to stay in Edinburgh. Very cheap and cozy. I really liked it.

    edinburgh nights hostel
    Hotels in
    Edinburgh
This hostel is in a great location (just a few steps from Prince Street, the castle, and some of the parks), not expensive at all, with 10 rooms, each accommodating between 4 and 6 people. Sheets are provided (but not towels), the reception desk is open 24 hours, Wi-Fi is available in public areas and breakfast is included in the price. Good atmosphere, good security (with in-room safe for valuables), hospitable staff, the only drawback (and even then, only if you're really fussy), cleaning could be done a little more often.

If you go to Edinburgh, stay at the Apex Hotel at the foot of the castle. It's in an ultra-nice neighborhood with lots of little pubs and small shops and you can visit most of the city on foot. The hotel itself is really nice and I loved the little ducks in the bath room. All thing considered, great place to stay.
