    hotel le cloitre saint louis
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Espace Saint Louis is a cultural and artistic center in the historic district of Avignon. It was built near the Palace of the Popes in Avignon, initially founded by a Jesuit novitate as a religious building. It's quiet, with a sixteenth century cloister. Over the years, the building was secularized and became a military hospital and nursing home. After the great renewal of the 90s, it reopened as a hotel and cultural centre. Theatre and concert tickets are sold here for the city's famous festival. The renewal was the work of the famous architect Jean Nouvel (who also built the Agbar Tower in Barcelona).

    mercure avignon centre hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Mercure hotel is a modern building next to the Palace of the Popes, in the historical heart of Avignon. It has been integrated well among the surrounding medieval buildings, but it was built before the laws of conservation of architectural heritage were put in place, and UNESCO named the city centre a World Heritage Site. The hotel has 87 air-conditioned rooms with phones and private bathrooms. The hotel has a pool, perfect for hot summer hours. If you come in July, you have to book months in advance, because there is a very popular theater festival. Below is a bar with a lounge but the restaurants around have much more charm.

    kyriad place de l'horloge hotel

    Avignon
The Hotel Kyriad Avignon Palais Des Papes is in an ideal downtown location in the beautiful Old Town Square in front of the great opera house and very close to the Palace of the Popes. You can definitely visit the great landmarks of this historical and cultural city and will be impressed without a doubt.

    mercure pont d'avignon hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Mercure Hotel is right next to the Benezet Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage point. On one side you can access the Palace of Popes in less than five minutes on foot, and on the other side you have the bridge, which is the other famous city attraction, only two minutes away. Below, there are some good restaurants, which I recommend because it's always better to eat in a chain restaurant because their menus don't change that much. There are a total of 87 rooms and a small garden. The conference room can hold 120 people. The hotel has wifi included in the price. Children under 12 can sleep in their parents rooms free. Only one child per room. The rooms cost between 140 and 200 euros a night, according to what time of year it is, and with breakfast and internet access it tends to be around 160 euros a night.

    hôtel du palais des papes
    Hotels in
    Avignon
I have ordered the express menu for 14 €. You can choose a hot dish from the menu and a dessert. In my case, I ordered a steak and a dessert-like candied fruit Panacotta, they were very good. The fire, which I thought was a wood-burning stove, turned out to be gas, but it was very effective and, with the deluge that fell outside, it was much appreciated.

Avignon's Hotel Briston is on the great Cours Jean Jaures avenue, only a five minute walk from the train station and the clock square. If you follow the Cours to the end, your arrive in the historic district and the Palace of the Popes. It's a three-star hotel set in a Provencal-style home. It's been in business for over 80 years and has a total of 65 rooms on three floors. There is internet in the common areas, 24 hour reception and the staff speak English, Italian, and some Spanish. du parc hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Hotel du Parc is a beautiful 18th-century building which belonged one of Avignon's noble families and was then converted to a printing press before finally being a hotel. It's run by the second generation of the same family that has run it since the 1960s. The 14 rooms are spread over two floors and are decorated in the simple, typical Provencal style. Nextdoor, there's a small public park and some rooms have views of the park while others look out on to a quiet street. The rooms have closets but no TVs. A single room is 35 euros, doubles are 45, and the prices rise in summer, particularly during the theater festival. Breakfast costs 7 euros/day.

    le colbert hotel

    Avignon
Located on Agricole Perdiguier street, behind the little park which has the same name, this small hotel is only open from March through to late October. It is a beautiful Provencal house with traditional decor, yellow walls, chairs and wrought iron tables, and a courtyard blooming with vegetation. The rooms are not large but they have also Provencal decor, are they are equipped with a bathroom with shower and hairdryer and free wifi. Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms. They charge from 50 euros for a single room, 55 for a double and 92 for a triple, up to 110, 110 and 140 respectively for the period of greatest demand, which is mid-July, during the theater festival.

    novotel avignon nord hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Novotel belongs to the Accor group. It is located next to the motorway which goes from Lyon to Marseille. There was some noise but once you are inside the room, you do not hear much. Next door is a clinic and on the other side there is another cheaper hotel. You are a 10 minute drive away from the center of Avignon, and it´s not a particularly pretty place, since there is no village nearby. It is located in the middle of a huge shopping center, and the only things that you can reach on foot are national chain restaurants and shops. This three-star hotel offers 100 rooms. There is a restaurant, and 11 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 200 people. It's more for going on business, but it also has a pool and a tennis court.

    ibis gare hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
This is the central station in Avignon. It's in front of the Cours Jean Jaures, that is to say, the walls at the entrance of the historical part of the city. It's very convenient if you're going to be visiting and not renting a car. There was a luggage room and they charge around 5 euros each suitcase, to leave them there up to 3 days. It tends to be expensive for just one afternoon, but a lot of people come during summer. They don't sleep in hotels because there are festivals and they're all booked up, so there can be a solution if you're there without a lot of money. There's a bus that links this station with the Avignon TGV station, where the high-speed trains are. If you're going to travel a lot you can buy a Eurorail pass or a 12-25 card for those younger than 25.

    Avignon
This is a small hotel on the rue Joseph Vernet, a pedestrian-only street but taxis are allowed in so you can go with your luggage. Anyway, it's only a 10 minute walk from the train station. It's next to the bridge, one of the most iconic landmarks in Avignon, and the Palace of the Popes. In total, the hotel has 16 single or double rooms, with TV, phone and en suite bathrooms. There's internet in the reception area. The rooms are decorated in the traditional Provencal style of yellow and blue. Some rooms have wooden ceiling. Breakfast is included in the price.

    hotel d'europe
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Hotel d'Europe is a luxury hotel situated on the Crillon Square in Avignon. You are in the medieval old town, facing the river Rhone. It's an old building typical of this region of Provence, with warm yellow tones, a sundial in the front door and other fine details. The inner courtyard is ideal for a summer breakfast, or snack after the heat of the day has died down. This luxury hotel has been here since 1799, and has been listed in the Michelin Guide since 1900! Obviously it's an expensive place, with the classic rooms starting at 175 euros a night. The most expensive suite, overlooking the Palace of the Popes, is 820 euros. Breakfast is 17 euros a head.

    boquier hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
Boquier Hotel is a small hotel that is much more lovely inside than out. It is within the walls of the city and is quite well located for touring the city on foot. Many people cycle in the region and the hotel has a shelter for bicycles while visiting the city. It's an eighteenth century building with modern, renovated wooden ceilings and other details of the past that give a very nice touch. The hotel can help you organize your trip, rent a car, etc. A single room is about 50 euros, a double 60 and a triple 70 (depending on the season). Breakfast is 8 euros and parking is 7 euros/day. During the festival there is a special theater rate.

    Avignon
Le Splendid is a small two star hotel in Avignon, located behind the park and the Cours Péreguier Agricole Jean Jaures. The rooms are basic but nice, and all come with a private bathroom. There is a patio where you can store your bike and sunbathe a bit. In total there are 17 rooms and 3 apartments. It´s very close to the train station. The prices are those of the high season, but they do not lower much during the low season. A single room costs 40 euros per night, a double room is 59 or 70 euros with air conditioning, and a triple room is 70 euros. Breakfast costs EUR 7 per person, and there is a citywide tour of 0.65 euros per day per person.

    formule 1 aviñon nord hotel
    Hotels in
    Avignon
The Formule 1 is a very cheap hotel, part of the Accor chain. It is located next to the A7 motorway, a 10 minute drive from Avignon. There is a bus stop in front, and the room only costs 31 euros a night, because the service they offer is very basic. I don't recommend the breakfast. They sell drinks and some food in machines and have a list of companies that deliver food. Or you can go and have dinner at the hotel next door. Bathrooms are shared, and the rooms only come equipped with a sink. They can sleep up to three people, with a single bed and a double. It's okay to stop if you have a long way to travel and want to spend the night near the highway without discovering the city.

    hôtel de garlande
    Hotels in
    Avignon
This hotel is located in the historic centre of Avignon, two minutes walk from the famous square of the clock. There are many points of interest around the city - historical monuments, restaurants, shops ... and all can be reached on foot from the hotel Garlande. It's a small, old house on a quiet pedestrian street that has been renovated as a guest house. The owner really offers personal care and attention, which is a nice touch in this rather touristy town. He knows the city inside out, and will help you with anything you need ... trains, show tickets, city maps ... The regular double room costs 75 euros a night, plus 8 for breakfast. The most expensive rooms are between 105 and 115 a night.

    Avignon
We booked a room well in advance, and it didn't disappoint at all! Really beautiful decor - this building has been renovated several times, but it dates back to the early sixteenth century. The ideal place to enjoy some time in Avignon, with affordable prices.

    hotel formule 1 avignon nord
    Hotels in
    Avignon
This hotel is on the A7 motorway, just 10 minutes away by car from the centre of Avin. There's a bus stop right in front, but there aren't many buses. The rooms only cost 31 euros a night, and the services are very basic. The small lunch they offer costs extra, and it's not worth it. They sell drinks and snacks from machines, and give you a list of companies that deliver. Or you can go to dinner at the Novotel nearby. Showers are shared, the rooms only have a sink. 3 people can sleep in each room, with a double bed and a single bed. Other than that, everything must be paid for ... internet, services ... It is a hotel for budget-conscious travelers.
