The Novotel Thalassa Oleron in Saint-Trojan-les-Bains is just magical. It has a great view, located on the Gatseau beach. The thalassotherapy centre is directly connected to the hotel. There is a swimming pool with sea water, sauna, hammam, gym .... There is also a restaurant and a beautiful terrace. You can choose a room overlooking the forest or for roughly 30 € more, you can have a sea view ... The view of Saint-Trojan is really beautiful.

This Hotel Le Memphis is located beside Poitiers station. It is a small family hotel with just nine rooms. The rooms are small, but everything is very clean and comfortable. I liked the family atmosphere, with patchwork decorations and the lounge full of books and magazines. A great quality : price ratio - recommended.
This complex dates from 1988 and was recently remodeled with modern facilities and decoration - it's a cordial place. It's about a 10 minute walk to the town center and is close to the beach so is ideal for pleasure or business. It has wifi and breakfast service.
The Hotel Henri IV (La Rochelle - Poitou-Charentes - France) is located in the city centre, in the historic district of La Rochelle. This is a four-story building with a reception leading to 24 fully equipped, well-decorated rooms. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
The La Marina is situated in a perfect location, as it is opposite the famous towers of La Rochelle. The rooms opposite the two towers are priced between 110 € and 140 €, and between 70 € and 85 € with courtyard views. There is also a bar and a restaurant. I think this place is very nice. I'm going to go there to drink coffee occasionally.
The Hotel de l'Ocean is located on Avenida de las Damas, and offers customers with a restaurant and 15 rooms. The price of a double Room ranges from 48-58 €. Breakfast costs 5.80 Euros per person. The Hotel de l'Ocean is facing the old port. It offers rooms with a sea view and with a view of the two towers. I think it is great for people who want to be in the center of the city and in the heart of all the fun. On the other hand, there is no parking.
Siblu parks belong to a British chain of "mobile homes" located on the French Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean. We were in "Les Charmettes" during Easter and it was a wonderful experience, especially for children. There were more staff than guests. It was very nice and we went cherry-picking. There were around 50 employees and 20 guests.
These are the ADVANTAGES we had:
- The Easter holidays in France do not coincide with those of Spain, which is low season, and so it was super cheap. We paid about 200 € a week for 5 in a mobile home with terrace, garden and 3 bedrooms.
- Heated swimming pool for a few hours in the morning and afternoon.
- Activities for kids (crafts, dances, character visits, which was exciting for the children) in the morning and afternoon. At night there was a party, but since there weren't many people it wasn't much of a party. We weren't interested anyways, we like to make the most of the daytime.
- Although there weren't many activities planned during this season, the few that there were, were almost exclusive to us. And that's what we wanted, escape from the crowds, the hustle ... It was also far easier to only have to spot 3 "heads", because with the crowds it's crazy.
DISADVANTAGES (or advantages?):
- The language. The parks are bilingual, so everything is organized in English or French. But I took it more as an advantage, so that little by little the children grow up accustomed to other languages, learn new words, learn about other cultures...
- Weather. In that week of March we had a bit of everything: sun, freezing cold, rain, hail, wind...
It is a very nice and say very touristy, but in March it was empty.
If you come across the mansion "Hotel de Beauce" at night, you can not help but think of witches, Harry Potter and the Adams family. This imposing building, now privately owned, cannot be visited. It was built in the sixteenth century by M. de Beauce. The house served as a place of meetings and conferences for the French Protestant Church since the beginning of this century. There is lovely architecture and the windows are beautiful - this part of the building was added in the nineteenth century and houses some stairs. The mixture of styles, the neglect of the walls, a full moon at night, and you will expect to see a werewolf jump from the other side of the door!
As I said in my review of Futuroscope, we stayed at the Mercure Aquatis to visit the theme park and the surrounding villages. The location near the park is excellent, just a few minutes from the entrance. Oh, and if you have a child under 15 they get free breakfast if the parents buy breakfast. Spacious, comfortable bedrooms and a good breakfast buffet await.
This hotel is located behind the parking lot of Saint-Jean d'Arc in La Rochelle. It is near Competencia Beach and has a private car park. I really like their patio. However, I do not like the decor of the rooms. On the other hand, the staff are very friendly. In terms of price, it costs 105 € for a double room in low season and 120 € in high season.
This hotel in La Rochelle is very conveniently located, within walking distance of the harbor and with a public car park situated directly opposite. With simple but warm decor, everything gives you a sense of warmth and cleanliness ... It has a small terrace on the top floor which is awesome. Highly recommended.

The Hotel de la Paix is a wonderful place to stay in the city of La Rochelle, in the French province of Poitou - Charentes. You're sure to have a great time in this comfortable hotel, with everything you need to feel at home. The reception staff will help you throughout your stay.
I don't really like this hotel, but it is a practical choice if you want to stay in the centre, as it's just a 1-minute walk from the old port and close to the restaurants, beaches, etc. It's on the Marshal Forch square, and prices range from 69 to 116, depending on the size. There are 11 rooms, all fairly simply decorated. Breakfast costs 7 euros. There's convenient, free parking in front.
The Hotel Le Manoir is located in General Leclerc Avenue, in La Rochelle. This is the avenue running from the Place de Verdun - a great location, close to the parks, the shopping area, and the beach. The hotel staff are very nice. Rooms cost 54, and are clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast, at 6 euro a head, is very good.
Le Rochelois is in Port-Neuf, facing the sea. To get there, you have to go to the mall and turn left, then continue straight until you find it on your left. You'll see a long promenade, where the locals bike, walk or run. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the city centre. There's a fitness centre with sauna, steam bath, hydromassage bath, a gym, and a large swimming pool. There are 44 rooms (38 rooms with sea view). Prices range from 45 to 100 (according to the season). A nice hotel for holidays at sea ...
