Lastiry Hotel is a family hotel situated in the center of Sare, opposite the village church. Each of the rooms is decorated and furnished differently, they are very cozy and have nice furniture, curtains, bedspreads and carpets. We had two rooms, one of which had a balcony with table and chairs for a relaxing drink. The bathrooms were huge, very brand-new and very cool, with tiles and marble, one in blue and the other room in raw tones. The corridors of the hotel and other decorations were also very good. There were chairs on the landings and even an aquarium. The service was very good at all times. The breakfast was pretty good, and it included sausages, small croissants, pastries, juice, yogurt and hot beverages. If you go, be aware that the reception is at the bottom of the bar, in the restaurant's entrance. We spent some time looking until we found! It is a great hotel for the area.
100% non-smoking, this hotel has a great location, five minutes walk from the city centre and close to the railway station. Hotel booked a month in advance so prices worked out quite reasonable. As always the Novotel are at the higher range of the Accordhotels chain and therefore though they are are not of the greatest luxury, they have pretty nice details. Clean spacious room, impeccable service and buffet breakfast more than adequate.
One year we repeated our Siblu park experience, as the first experience has been fantastic. To repeat! We were a group of families, and when we arrived we found with surprise, that we could pool our mobile homes for the same price, were awarded some higher-end mobile homes. A nice touch! The 4 mobile homes were excellent, very clean, spacious and well kept. It's amazing how every centimeter of a mobile home is well used! It is an ideal place to practice English near the border. Interestingly the majority of customers are British and all activities and posters are bilingual: French and English. As we said Siblu chain is English, so a large number of British customers go there. On this side of the coast that is not very common. For children there is a mini-club where they have a terrific time and there are days when they are visited by characters e.g. a mouse. The only downside is that, in mid season, the pool is open from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00. And it costs a lot of time to conform to French! One of the many things positive is the price. From Easter to mid-June, and from September, there is a very interesting offer: 3 nights/2 days to 90 € in the basic mobile home for 6 persons. In the price is includes barbecue, entrance to the pools, mini club and the "parties". www.Siblu.Fr
The Belin Haou is an old farmhouse that dates back to 1707, but it has been completely renovated. This place can be rented throughout the year for a minimum of one week at least. The house is 400m ², with 1 acre of garden and a large pool of 12m. There is a relaxing atmosphere and it has 9 rooms that can comfortably accommodate more than 15 people. There is a nice view of Nice from the mountains when the weather is clear. The nearest village is called Pouillon, which is about 4km away, where there are supermarkets and helpful shops. Belin Haou is south of the Landes. It is an ideal place to be able to visit the Basque Country, take a walk in the mountains or go swimming in the sea (Hossegor this at 35km). Rental is available all year, but the pool only runs in July and August. The house is fully equipped (dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, spacious living, dining, etc..).
If you're looking for a place where you can forget all your worries, then go to ARNA where everything is excellent, including the bungalows, the beach, and the pool. Whether to rest, walk, bike, or surf, this is a naturalist's paradise less than an hour and a half from San Sebastian. For me, an annual visit is a must. I have yet to stay in the new treetop cabins.
This hotel is similar to the formula 1 hotels, a cheap and convenient place if you are coming from the motorway and do not want to be hanging around in the center looking for a hotel. I recommend it for example if you go on holiday by car to Paris and do not want to stop in Bordeaux apart from to sleep. But it is nice to be in the center. It costs between 44 and 59 euros per night for 1-4 people. Some of the rooms were smoking and still smelled of smoke. The bathroom is small but towels and soap are provided. There is a TV and free wifi in the rooms. You can book a room with 4 single beds, handy for a group of friends and no more expensive than a guesthouse in the center. Parking is secure.
The Inn is located behind the Bordeaux train station, not far from the river either. It is a 89-room hotel, about 80 euros per night. There is a fitness centre but you have to pay extra.
