    Art Hostel
I really wanted to stay at Art Hostel because I'd heard about it in the Guardian newspaper - it's supposed to be one of the coolest hostels in Europe. We tried to make a reservation for a private room for the two of us, but nothing was available, so we were offered a room for 4 for the same price. Okay, no problem ... until we got there, and we were told we'd have to share with two other people! They also offered us the name of a lady who rents rooms out, but that was no good. So we decided to stay in the shared room and the hostel offered us no apologies. We couldn't sleep at all with all the noise. They say there's a kitchen, but the truth is that there are no cooking rings or fridge, so you can only make a sandwich. The shower is ok, but everything is pretty dirty. There's no shortage of hostels in Sofia, so find somewhere else to stay!

    Les Fleurs Boutique Hotel
Hotel Les Fleurs is a luxury boutique hotel on Sofia's the main street called Vitosha. The first good thing is since Vitosha Street is pedestrianized there is no noise from traffic in the room. There are 31 rooms, all are non-smoking, and each of the rooms has a different design, with original floral decor. There is a flat screen TV, a mini bar, and the other services that you find this level of hospitality in Western countries. The beds are very wide with lots of pillows, and the decor is quite modern compared to what you usually find around here. In the basement there is a restaurant, Le Bouquet, which was a little sad because it had no windows or views, but you eat well. The food is international with an oriental touch. Prices for rooms range from 145 € per night for the classic option, to 270 € for the quarter sumptuous panorama. There are also packages for newlyweds.

    Hotel Rodina
We wanted a hotel for our journey to Sofia and we chose the first one we saw near the center. This hotel is located at N 42 ° 41,505 'E 23 ° 18.529'. The outdoor parking cost us 8 euro 15 cams for 24 hours. The Rodina is a tall building, a 4 star but rundown, but a very good option for the price. The standard double room cost 37 € and breakfast 7 € more. The breakfast was okay if you don't want to search for food in the morning, but your best option would be to find breakfast at a local bar. The facilities are aging, needs a lick of paint and a change of carpets as well as renew the furniture. The shower did not receive anything from the poor light in the bathroom. The best are the views of the upstairs veranda (one window) and from your room if you choose a high floor.

    Sofia Peace Hostel
The Peace Hostel is a small but cozy Hostel in the capital of Bulgaria. This place is run by a University professor named Eric who speaks Spanish. It was once a house which was changed into a hostel. The room I was sleeping didn't have a bathroom, and was on the ground floor, as in other places in Bulgaria the bathroom has a shower without separation. It's a nice place for backpackers and is in a prime location just five minutes from the cathedral and a minute from the shopping street. It has a nice terrace with a table, wifi throughout the building

    Canape Connection Guest House
We stayed in this hostel for a weekend in Sofia and it was great. The price was excellent, and the staff who looked after us were very friendly. Upon arrival we asked for advice about what to do, and they recommended a free tour which was very good. The hostel has double and shared rooms. We were in a double, decorated in an eye-catching original style. The bathroom was shared, but it was very clean, so this wasn't a problem. All this for 15 euros a night per person! Really worth it!

    Interhost Guest rooms and apartments
With a very central location in Sofia, this hotel is the ideal spot to stay in this beautiful city. You can book a bed in a bedroom for the price of 9 euros a night, including breakfast. The hotel is located in an apartment building, so don't expect huge open spaces; however, there is all that you'll need - a small kitchen, a living room, and a useful laundrette. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the 24-hour facilities are quite admirable. I liked the bunk beds.

    Sheraton Balkan Hotel Sofia
This great monument was built between the years 1935, and 1937 by architects and Belkovsky Danchov as guests of the state of the Tsar. Today, of course, the structure has been privatized (the property of Georgi Gergov, a Bulgarian businessman), but retains its majesty and great charm. From the hotel leads an inner courtyard, where you can admire the archaeological excavations of Roman ruins and St. George Rotunda, the oldest church in Sofia. The hotel is still a good place to go to have a coffee and read the morning newspaper.
