All about Toronto tourism

Toronto is the largest city in Canada and perhaps the most accessible thanks to its location on Lake Ontario near the US state of New York. Toronto tourism revolves around the city’s rich museum scene, world-famous festivals, historic downtown area, and sports teams. The best time to visit Toronto is during the spring and summer months since the winters can be quite bitter and cold.

Many would suggest dividing your Toronto vacation by neighborhoods, starting with the Distillery District, a historic port-side neighborhood that is now home to cafes, restaurants, museums, and theaters. Traffic in the area is restricted which means that pedestrians can explore the charming squares and historic buildings on foot and enjoy their Toronto holidays at their leisure.

Next stop during your holidays to Toronto should be downtown, home to the iconic buildings which define Toronto’s skyline as well as bustling ethnic neighborhoods like Chinatown and Little Italy. Aside from great restaurants and scenic squares, the downtown area also has several must-see museums for your Toronto trip: The Royal Ontario Museum, the Gardiner Museum, and the Design Exchange, to name a few.

As we mentioned earlier, Toronto is a very accessible city and there are plenty of ways to travel to Toronto. You can fly into Toronto Pearsons International Airport and catch the GO bus or train to the downtown area. Many others prefer to combine their holidays in Toronto with visits to other cities in the American northeast and simply travel in a rental car. So whether part of a road-trip or as a destination in and of itself, Toronto is a city full of beautiful architecture, great restaurants, and world-class cultural institutions. So, let’s begin planning your trip to Toronto!
