Viewpoints in Granada
Mirador de San Nicolas
To get to the San Nicolás viewpoint, forget the car. You have two options: walking or taking the minibus of Granada urban transportation (line 31). Of course, if you go to Granada, this is one of the places you must visit, to behold the most beautiful view of the Alhambra. You can take the bus at Plaza Nueva or Gran Vía de Colón, but apparently there are building works in the neighbourhood of Albaicín and the bus cannot stop at Plaza San Nicolás, so one has to get off at Iglesia San Salvador and the bus driver will give directions, above all to any foreigners traveling on the bus. I recommend taking a map of Granada so that you don't get lost, even though it is not too difficult to get there because there are various signs indicating the direction. I walked up there last time from Plaza Nueva (last year), with two friends from Granada, a beautiful walk, I highly recommend it if you have time. I descended walking both times, until arriving at Puerta Elvira. Whatever way you choose, if it is at dusk, much better. You will enjoy a spectacular view of the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada in the background. Don't miss out on it.
Viewpoints in Toledo
Valley Viewpoint
I was in Toledo last September and I can’t think of something that I didn’t like. For me it was an incredible experience to experience everything that I had read in books, that my grandparents talked about and that my parents made sure we didn’t forget. Every landscape was a memory, a song, a saying heard and learned at home. I was so amazed with Toledo that my friend who came with me and hosted me in her house told me every step of the way “Marta, close your mouth, your jaw is going to fall”. I’m glad that I haven’t lost the capacity of being marveled with everything.

Fitu Viewpoint
We found it by mistake. It was our last day in Asturias and we spent it driving around without any particular place in mind. We saw a sign that said “Mirador El Fitu” so we went to see what lay there. It is a good thing we did. The views are a real marvel…there are no words; even if the day was foggy it was worth it. You must go.
Viewpoints in Nerja
Balcón de Europa
The Balcón de Europa is a viewpoint that used to be called “La Torre de los Guardas” (the tower of the guards). It is located south from the town of Nerja, in front of the Salón Beach and Calahonda, and it was constructed in the 17th century. Today, it is an extraordinary window to the sea and the Mediterranean coast, and you can walk there by a tree-lined promenade called Paseo del Balcón de Europa. There you will find cafeterias, restaurants, ice cream shops, hotels and rides in horse carriages that will take you through the old part of Nerja.
Viewpoints in San Sebastián
Monte Igueldo Lookout
In Mount Iguelo's Amusement Park, you'll find one of the best viewpoints in San Sebastian (I think it's a must-see). From there, you can, at a glance, the whole coast of San Sebastian, even beyond the city, the entire Basque coastline and its interior.

The Viewpoint of Benidorm
This precious viewpoint in Benidorm has some spectacular views. Since I found out about this place, I haven’t stopped coming here to enjoy it with my own eyes, despite the fact that I live in Alicante. Every time I come to Benidorm, this viewpoint is at the top of my list.
Viewpoints in Gijón
Cerro de Santa Catalina Park
This is one of my favourite places in Gijón to wander and be at peace; reading, walking or just gazing at the sea. The summit is in the Cimadevilla neighbourhood, a fishing district of Gijón, and was 'remodelled' a few years ago to the delight of passers-by and gijoneses. It is a garden on the cliffs surrounding the Bay of Biscay. From the top of the park you can see the entire city, especially the San Lorenzo Bay and San Pedro church. It was a Roman settlement where people avoided sieges from the coast, thanks to the privileged view over the sea and the city. Today the city is contemplating the "Eulogy to the Horizon" by Chillida, welcoming all those arriving to Gijon by sea.

River Viewpoint
It is the third viewpoint made by César Manrique (El Palmarejo in La Gomera, La Peña in El Hierro) that I visit, and they are all beautiful and located in strategic places. To see this one you must pay. I was surprised. It has a magnificent view over the archipelago Chinijo (Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Alegranza, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste). La Graciosa, the only one that is inhabited (644 people), and separated from Lanzarote by a tongue of water called El Río. It has two towns, the capital, La Caleta del Sebo and Casas de Pedro Barbas. The island is quite flat, although it has a few small volcanoes. You can visit it every day from 10:00 to 19:00. It is worth visiting.
Viewpoints in Malaga
Mirador Gibralfaro
This is the sunset as seen from the Mirador de Málaga Gibralfaro. I also recommend watching the sunrise, which is equally as wonderful. From there you can see a panorama of the city of Malaga, with Plaza de Toros on one side and views of the city on the other, as shown in the picture. In the center of the picture is the Cathedral Church of the Incarnation, known to some as "The Manquita", due to the fact that one of the towers of the main facade is unfinished.

El Pilar de la Mola Viewpoint
You just realise how small and narrow the island is. You can see the narrow neck with the sea surrounding both sides.

Colomer Lookout
This is a viewpoint with spectacular views, a mixture of sea and wonderful mountains. I recommend visiting at sunset, is a magical moment with a dramatic golden light over the mountains. Make sure you look at the stairs carved into the rock, they are magnificant. Undoubtedly, a place you must visit if you go to Mallorca.
Viewpoints in Granada
San Cristobal Viewpoint
A fantastic vantage point in the middle of Albaicín from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the entire city of Granada, including a side view of the Alhambra and the Palacio de Carlos V.

Cabo Santa Pola Lighthouse
These days, lighthouses are essentially forgotten thanks to new GPS systems and complex navigation computers. This lighthouse isn’t one of the prettiest in the world, but the views are impressive. As you get closer and closer to lands’ end, you can see the incredible drop-off to the sea and Tabarca Island off in the distance, which you can see perfectly on clear days. You can also see the city of Alicante.

Cruz de Benidorm
Really great! I'm not especially religious but we were doing a 5-hour hike from Alfas del Pi across the mountains. We were dead tired and hadn't brought enough water but when we finally saw that cross...of, what a feeling of relief!
Viewpoints in A Coruña
Elevator at Monte San Pedro
The panoramic elevator offers great views of Corunna. From there, you can see the Millenium, Orzán and Riazor beaches, and of course, the Tower of Hercules. There are normally lines to go up and down (although you can always walk down). It goes up on the hour, and down on the half hour. You have to be smart once inside the "ball" if you want a good view. When we were there, it had just opened and it didn't cost anything.
