Without a doubt the Zacharias of Hradec Square is certainly the most visited attraction by tourists in this beautiful town of just over 5,000 inhabitants. Annually the square receives more than 200,000 tourists. Triangular in shape, Gothic and Renaissance houses that surround a picturesque gables are of the same height and are one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles throughout the Czech Republic (a World Heritage Site). In the centre of the square stands the Column of the Virgin; a Baroque, eighteenth-century Column which is now the symbol of the city. The name commemorates the main driver of the city.
