Markets in Berlin
Türkischen Market
(4)
Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 to 18:30 h. Metro: U8-Schönleinstrasse. For an essential hour spent in Berlin, go to the Turkish market in Kreuzberg. The din of people (shopping carts in the street which is so narrow), screaming merchants "here, here, offer!" (Hier, hier Offer!), The explosion of scents of hundreds of different fruits and vegetables, the mixture of colors, good price and quality of the products (but beware, it is better not to buy fruit and vegetables that come from the EU), make every Tuesday and every Friday, even if only to mix with people, a delight. It is certainly one of my favorite spots, and most frequented in Berlin

Berlin Christmas Market
(1)
An absolute delight for the senses: colored lights, the smell of mulled wine with cinnamon and assorted sweets, ice rink, shops of all kinds and lovely atmosphere. All this is what you will find in the various Christmas markets that are scattered around town. Warning: they are only mounted during the time of Advent, on Christmas Eve they are removed. They are called Weihnachtsmarkt, although in certain traditional places they are called Advent market or markets of baby Jesus. They formerly served as a warm place to shelter the inhabitants of the towns and cities of central Europe during early winter. They eventually became a fixed place for Christmas celebrations. They have all the things I expected to find, and I was not at all disappointed. My favourite is the Alexanderplatz, the illuminated ferris wheel and ice rink have a special magic. You'll find other markets before passing the Castle Bridge and reaching the cathedral (if you are coming from the Brandenburg Gate), opposite the French cathedralr in the Postamer plaza. The illumination of the street and the inside of the Sony building are absolutely spectacular. P.S. Do not expect to see much of a night view from the ferris wheel. Since it's cold the glass fogs up and you aren't able to see a thing. I do recommend going on the ferris wheel however.
