The Botanical Garden, is another of the famous Green Areas of Nantes. Animals like ducks and deer can easily be spotted wandering about. There are seven acres of "rare plants", medicinal gardens, child gardens ... A real treat to take a walk, read a book ...
The mild climate of Nantes (which is caused by the proximity of the coast) is one of the reasons you can find such great horticulture there ... And the green, beautiful gardens. Among the many parks and gardens that you can visit (19 in total), the most impressive is the Ille de Versailles, designed with a Japanese style with small waterfalls, rocks, bridges, ponds ... Although we didn´t dare, you can rent boats to coast around the Erdre from the island. At Maison de l'Erdre you can learn a little about the flora and fauna of the Nantes River
Nantes, located in the East of France, is a small and peaceful town. It is what might be called a peaceful haven that invites you to rest and contemplation. A place off the beaten path that seems more like a magnetic field than just a fence adorned with frills. It is all about its carefully and thoroughly maintained park, or rather its garden. This stunning set of colors, water, trees, and animals such as deer, ducks and frogs simply envelops visitors to feel comfortably relaxed. In this green space, silence is imposed by the natural surroundings, and has a hike that can be done quietly, with stops that can be extended to several hours. In short, a place well worth enjoying.
Gaudinière Park is located at the entrance of Nantes near Orvault. The natural area covers 12.5 hectares. In the 80´s, this park was not very well taken care of and therefore seemed a bit "sad." Now it consists mainly of rhododendrons, camellias, Sequoia, a rock garden and a wooded area. I like to visit with a good book to read. because it´s very nice and relaxing--similar to the Proc Park. These two parks are particularly great for relaxing in Nantes.
Founded in 1984, the garden of five senses covers 0.57 hectares. It offered to revive the senses through various activities such as alluring scents, a musical fountain and a sundial. It's a nice place open from 8:30 h to 17:00 h. It's nice to take a walk in the summer (when it closes at 19:30 h). In contrast to the architecture of Beaulieu island, the garden is very green.
After a show at the fair, I stumbled into the Beaujoire park. What a pleasure, mingling with the crowds, heat and a day of being in an idyllic and peaceful place!. At the entrance, I drunk in the perfume and the colors of the flowers. I felt immersed in a Baudelaire poem in which he describes synesthesia. The park, covering 12 acres, of horticulture and landscape, is a real treat.
Since June, I was in search of Gaudinière park and found myself in the Census Bridge, which is part of the Census trail that goes for 4.1 kilometres. It was nice, here and there it crossed the Orvault river. You can continue your journey to Erdre. Whether you're going for a bike ride, a walk or to read a book on a bench, this path offers beautiful scenery.
