Tilburg fairs are proud to be one of the largest fairs in Europe and the largest in the Benelux with more than 230 attractions. It has the added feature that, as well as being a huge fair, every day it offers something different. Including the Caribbean gay pride day, where you can see lots of drag queens and everyone wears pink. Among the attractions are rollercoasters, including loops, a Ferris wheel of over 60 meters high (recommended at night) and water rapids. The fair starts on July 22 and ends on 31 March. The worst thing about it is the price of the attractions, ranging from 5 euros for the simplest to more than 15 euros for the largest.
Every two years, in Gilze at the military base, the Dutch armed forces have a party. In this event, they expose all kinds of aircraft and military vehicles, both the Dutch army and NATO. There are also displays of aerobatic flights, and even military aircrafts breaking the sound barrier a few feet off the ground and from spectators.
I was really surprized they maintain such crowd that well. Lake view was nice. The food was perfect. I've never eaten such good food for a while. Vegan sausages were my favourite. The only problem was that the general audience was local Dutch young adults and they were so tall that I couldn't see the stage at all. :)
