I just ate the grilled rabbit in The Cottage by the ravine of La Villa. The location is very rural, but you eat well and cheaply. There were 5 of us and the cost was 54 euros. The Gofio con Chicharrones is typical here. Every year they go on vacation from December 1 until past kings. As seen in the photo they do not accept credit cards.
Cuatro Caminos restaurant is situated on Calle Ruiz de Padron, one of the main streets running from the center of San Sebastian. It is located in a beautiful typical house of the Canary Islands, offering you the chance to see what they look like on the inside. They serve traditional Canarian food such as suckling pig, braised beans, grilled meats and fish ... if you want to try the canaries cheeses, they have both goats and sheeps cheese, and they are exceptional. The restaurant is very good but not cheap. It costs between 15 and 20 euros without wine at noon and a little more at night time. They also offer a selection of international cuisine too. Behind the house there is a small patio if you want to eat outside one day.
This kiosk is hidden under huge a ficus centenary, in the Constitution Square. It is situated in the heart of Old San Cristobal, which is very similar to how it was when Christopher Columbus and his crew arrived here all those years ago. The Caravels hark back to those ships that called at La Gomera before leaving for the Americas. They serve breakfast in the morning, you can try the roasted maize meal and island honey, flowers and palm, stronger and darker. At noon there is a Canarian tapas menu, serving wrinkled potatoes, marinated meats, stew .. It is a slightly touristy place but as it is one of the only places with shade, elderly people also come to chat over a coffee. A lunch time menu will cost you about 10 euros.
When you have a great décor that makes you smile when you enter a restaurant, great service by the staff, a selection of excellent dishes and a chef ve knows what he´s doing, you get a restaurant with exactly what you want. This is the case of Restaurante Torre del Conde, a tiny restaurant in San Sebastian that is consistently excellent, the service, the place, the dishes. Every dish that came out was better than the last. A highly recommended place that happens to be one of my favorite restaurants.
Three people ate five varied courses, with chips and salad plus 3 beers and a water for 20.60 euros - it seemed super cheap. We had a wonderful lunch and the friendly of the staff helped us with maps of the area and recommended places to eat well and cheaply.
Restaurant found on an old property dating back to the 17th century. The building has since been renovated but still retains the architectural details of the time, which is why it has become one of the finest establishments in the area. For example it still has a very colourful room with wooden ceilings and decoration of the region. It specialises in regional cuisine, particularly good is its watercress soup, tuna Canarian style and flan.
