The Max is a Filipino restaurant chain, although its appearance is fast food it really is very good quality. It is famous for a chicken recipe with their own salsa creation, and other Spanish-origin dishes like adobo or stew also are very good. When I went it was in the Malate zone, a backpackers area.
The place is totally bland, but in its kitchen hides a little treasure, as all Chinese cuisine, and especially those of Taiwanese origin are great, I tried it the two times I went: the xiao long bao (dumplings) and beef noodle soup in Taiwan, and on the 2nd visit the rice with seafood and chicken dumplings. They serve you a tea that is free, as well.
