A thousand colours, flavours and smells await us in Mami Lou Cupcake, a small place in the Eixample Bilbao. Raspberry tart with sesame, pear cake, carrot cake, macadamia nut cupcakes, chocolate and honey, yogurt with blueberries, lemon and cherry ... they claim to offer the best cheesecake east of New York. We like that it's a personal project, and risky, offering something different in a city famous for its cuisine. The pastries are all handmade on site by Alain, the Belgian chef. The restaurant's name is a tribute to his grandmother Ludovika, affectionately known as Mami Lou. It's small and comfortable, with good music.
