The Golden Tulip is a fantasti hotel next to the mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II. It is a 192-room hotel with a pool, but now they are renovatingso it cannot be used at the moment. Master the river Bou Regreg and you can see the other side of the city of Salé. You are close to the city center, too. There are many restaurants, including La Tulipe, a gastronomic restaurant. Rooms cost from 180 euros per night, the executive suite 210 and between 280 and 480 euros. They are big, with an average of 30 square meters, and the decor is contemporary, but respectful of Moroccan decor. The executive suite has a private floor, coffee, and various details to make one´s stay more enjoyable.
This is a typical 5 star hotel complex, fully-equipped, very nicely decorated and with every quality amenity for a hotel of its standing. The hotel opened in 1914 and from then on its been one of the most visited areas in the region.
Perfect for leisurely vacations or business trips.
The hotel is situated in the prestigious Balima Avenue Mohamed V, a five minute walk from the railway station of the city. If you have no luggage there is no need to take a taxi to the hotel, despite what taxi drivers will tell you. Everybody knows its grand façade with its name on it. This hotel has been open for more than 70 years. There are 65 rooms and 6 suites, all with private bath, some with shower only, but no central heating. The tower dominates the neighborhood and offer very good views. The rooms have modern decor, with a little oriental touch, which is quite charming for a hotel of this size. The rooms each have a TV and a desk and offers typical Western comfort. Though the hotel has a bar and a restaurant, I recommend you try the little restaurants around the neighborhood. The historic center is a five minute walk away. A double room costs between 60 and 70 Euros per night.
The Royal Hotel Rabat is well situated, a 10 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the center. Behind it is the lovely park Nouzhat Hassan. The hotel is in a pedestrian plaza and there are several places to eat around. The 67 rooms were renovated a few years ago, all have private bathrooms with hot water, heating, telephone and TV. The rooms are quite simple, but charming oriental style. The simple costs 500 dirhams per day, ie 45 euros, 65 euros double and triple 80 euros with breakfast. Add about 20 euros per person per day for dinner, it seems very expensive, you can eat out much better and cheaper. There is possibility to eat all meals in the hotel, not recommended.
The Hotel Terminus is situated on the Avenue Mohamed V, a five minute walk from the train station in Rabat town. The train station has direct links to the airport in Casablanca. The Hotel is well located and you can walk to the medina, the mausoleum of Mohammed V and the ruins of Chellah. Below is a bar that is licensed to sell alcohol. Whilst not a hotel, it is a cheap establishment which also serves breakfast. For hotel guests there is a buffet downstairs. It can become a bit noisy but is still very good value for money compared to what you would find in the medina. The neighborhood is a perfectly safe to walk around in at any time.
