The Casa Romana is in the district of Sibiu Rimpuri Noi. It is an Italian restaurant and pension. The pension is owned by the same family that owns the restaurant which has some rooms for rent. There are very few rooms to rent and you sleep in the family apartment. They are small but it is in a centric location where you can easily discover Sibiu by foot. The restaurant is downstairs, the decor is shabby but the food is good. They Mix pizzas and pastas, with Romanian dishes, salads polenta and seasonal vegetables. The rooms cost 100 RON, 25 euros per night for a double room and they all have private baths. For lunch, a full dinner will cost you around 10 euros a head.
The hotel Am Rina is situated in the main square, Piata Mare in Sibiu. It enjoys an excellent location, as it is the only hotel to be found in the square. The rooms offer great views over the medieval town, the town hall and belfry of the old Town Hall. Below the hotel there is a restaurant called the Gothic, it is more of a lounge bar and it is quite expensive, but there are other terraces in the square. The rooms cost 110 euros a night, and when we arrived about 9 pm, we asked for a discount since it was late. But then I looked on the internet and if you book in advance the prices are a little cheaper. The prices include breakfast. The place is a beautiful building, a historical monument, which was renovated in a classic style. Very comfortable.
The Hermanstadt apartments belong to the same owners as the pension. I liked it because there was a small refrigerator and a kitchen. The apartment was on the ground floor of an old house. It was very nice and on a quiet street, and you could enter through a small garden. In total, there are four bedrooms with no services. For example, WiFi was advertised, but we couldn't get it. The rooms cost the same as in the pension, 30 euros per night for a double room. It comes with a much larger bathroom, one small TV, and a small living room with a low table. You have to leave a passport as a guarantee for the key at reception, which is five minutes walk away.
Flying time is a hostel in the heart of Sibiu. We wanted to sleep there but they had no double rooms. There was a shared room for 4 people, 12 euros each, but for almost the same price we found a private room in a place a bit further from the city. In this place there was a good atmosphere, and I liked the decor, a bit rococo mixed with old and modern furniture. Below there was a bar that probably doesn´t let you sleep much of the night. They play lounge type music. There are shared rooms between 8, 6 and 4 people. It includes sheets but not breakfast. They were nice but when everything was full I probably would have chosen a different place to stay.
This small guest house is next to the station Sibiu. It is outside the heart of the city, but we looked for a home within the old city and found a place that charged 12 euros per person sharing with 4 more. Here we slept for 15 euros per person in a private room. The boy is very friendly, he helped us with everything. The room has one of the smallest bathrooms I've ever seen but at least it is a private bathroom with hot water. The decoration is normal, the room came with two comfortable cots, a TV and AC. Breakfast is not included. There was street parking. The center is a 10 minute walk.
The Old Town Hostel is situated in the Piata Mica, one of the most beautiful and well preserved squares in Sibiu. Located in a large house almost 500 years old, the Hostel dominates the beautiful plaza. The Renaissance-style building, with large arches previously housed businesses and shops. Transport is not needed to see the main sights of the city. Breakfast is not included, but there is a kitchen downstairs where you can prepare your own food. There is also washing machines the use of which will cost you 2 or 3 Euros. Use of the Internet is free. Bike and car rental services as well as tours are on offer. The cost for night in a dorm of 7, 8 or 10 people starts at 45 LEI, that is more or less 10 Euros. a Discount is available for holders of Shelters International cards. Double rooms cost 150 LEI.
Imparatul Romanilor is a luxurious hotel located just a few steps away from the main square, one of the most commercial streets in the city. It has the distinction of being the oldest hotel in the country. It was founded in the mid-sixteenth century and even though the families who've run it have changed over the centuries, the place was never closed except for repairs. In medieval times, it looked different as you could spend the night with your animals. Then on the ground floor there was a stable for horses, with food and water plus a sheltered spot for the night (Sibiu is a very cold place in winter, the snow lasts a long time). Guests stayed at the top. Now downstairs has a reception and reception halls. The old furniture has been refurbished and they've carefully decorated. It's not one of those hotels with horrible 70s furniture. The room costs a little more than 100 euros a night, including breakfast buffet.
The Ibis Sibiu is a little out of the historic heart of town. But it is a good place if you are driving and you will not have trouble parking. The hotel belongs to the Accor chain and has just opened recently. To celebrate the event, there were offers from 59 euros instead of 80 euros. Sibiu Hotels are expensive for what they are, which can be very old and somewhat neglected. Who does not want to look far, Ibis is on the road from Bucaret, in a modern tower, you can not miss it. There are a total of 95 rooms, with wifi, private bathroom, TV, and 24 hour reception. The rooms are simple but functional.
Levoslav House is a hotel in the heart of Sibiu, constructed in the year 1840. The historic monument was renovated last year, and takes the same family for 40 years. It is situated five minutes from the Piata Mare, the great square of Sibiu, so you can go everywhere walking. The place is modernly decorated with dark tones. It's a fancy place where they rent rooms and apartments. The apartment are with a double room and it cost 85 euros per night, with the advantage that you can make food for yourself. The theme is music, in all its aspects. There are 10 bedrooms with double beds and 8 apartments, some with 2 rooms. Breakfast is down in a specific room for eating.
